“Do we really have to?”
“You’ve asked me the same question a thousand times already. Yes, we have to.”
“But no one else is wearing them anymore. Even on the Tube, you don’t see people’s faces covered up anymore.
“I get it. And I know that it might feel uncomfortable, but we’re a window display. We set the example. Now, if you could please tell me where it hurts.”
“Well, I feel slightly wooden around the lower back area.”
I left the two figures deep in their fictional conversation behind at the Central London Osteopathy and Sports Injury Clinic on Old Street. Their imaginary verbal exchange was still echoing in my ears when I crossed the A10.
