I miss my wife. I have one more car ride left in me.
The city is an oven today and the sky will be on fire,
but the wind will stream into the open windows again.
We’ll break free from the skyscrapers, parking lots,
dive bars, and crowded streets with empty faces.
We’ll follow the winding coastal highway
with the waves crashing into ancient cliffs.
We’ll drive on and on, farther than we can see
into a day that never ends.
