There's another way I found out a while ago. If you highlight part of your story and share it on Twitter (it's the only platform I know where this works) whoever clicks on the link and reads it counts as an internal view, even though they're EXTERNAL. :-) It doesn't work if you just share the link. You must highlight part of your story, bearing in mind that Twitter only allows a max of 280 characters and that you might want to include relevant hash tags.
