So, raise the scaffold higher
tighten the noose
for the law shows empathy
by embracing the necks of evil doers
before letting them into darkness.
And let us virtuous ones avert our eyes
for to look upon the face of the condemned
is to see ourselves
and that is the gravest of sins
one even our justice system cannot judge.
