I shall remind myself that
There are many ordinary people doing good things
Even in the most desperate situations
And there are courageous people doing great things there as well
While you and I need to work in our own communities
To counter cynicism and falsehoods
Overcoming our own fears and prejudices
Always remembering that every human life is precious
Helping to spread the message
That everyone deserves beautiful days
And hope in a better future for them and their families
I will try to do what I can
To make it a better day for the people I encounter
In my small microcosm of the world
