However, I imagine this research also explains why journaling is so beneficial. When writing about your experiences, you do the same as students taking notes for a lecture. We can’t write everything that happens during the day, so we write about what affects us the most and why. Writing by hand helps us summarize our experiences while providing time to reflect on them.
