As much as we gleam over mankind’s progress, many of us, having lived our entire lives this way, don’t realize what humanity has lost in the process. What used to be open spaces where anthills bloomed and weeds flourished is now filled with angular pavements, cross-junctions, and perfectly trimmed bushes.
