As an editor myself, I would say that delay sometimes is down to many factors: lack of time, hectic schedule, prioritising (for instance, spending time with friends, or family or one's partner, instead of sitting in front of a laptop or desktop computer going through drafts). I'd say, cut us some slack, mate. :-)
